How can i get graduate school eventhough my GPA is less than 2.7 in USA , Canada or Australia

How can i get graduate school eventhough my GPA is less than 2.7 in USA , Canada or Australia?
My undergraduate degree is in Computer Science

In the USA the Colleges / Universities just do not look at your GPA they may also consider your GRE score, Statement of Purpose, Letter of Recommedation and other activities. In Canada the Universities may demand a min of 3.0 and above GPA but you have option of opting for Pvt. Colleges. They offer ONE year Graduate Diploma or Certificate course. In Australia there are some universities which may offer you admission with what you have...
2 :
Often a good GRE score, research experience, or letters of recommendation will offset bad grades. None of the schools I applied to had a MINIMUM grade point average. Some might have had the average undergraduate GPA or something, but half the students that make it have below average grades, so this is not a minimum. Maybe you wouldn't get into UCLA or something, but many smaller programs are desperate for students. Apply for schools in a wide range of rankings and see what you get.

What are the best flight schools in Australia

What are the best flight schools in Australia?
I would like to become a commercial pilot, and I am currently looking for flight schools abroad ( I am Indonesian). I’ve considered studying in America, but from what I’ve seen it’s very very expensive. I’ve been looking into flight academy’s down under. Yet there are so many flight academies, that I am really confused which one is the best to choose. I’ve been looking into these in particular: Airline Academy of Australia, Australian Wings Academy and Australian National Aviation College, National Aerospace Training. Can anybody give my any insight into these four schools, or other for that matter? Thank you very much for your time!!!

Jeet Kune Do schools in Australia, Sydney, Eastern Suburbs or CBD

Jeet Kune Do schools in Australia, Sydney, Eastern Suburbs or CBD?
Are there any instructors or schools for Jeet Kune Do in Australia. AND don't tell me to google it, cos I have, but I realized that sometimes places teach Jeet Kune Do but don't specialize. So they don't advertise it. Are there any places to learn jeet kune do in the eastern suburbs or CBD area? I live in Bellevue hill so anywhere less than 25 minutes away from there is fine. Hey guys, some good answers so far. I did do Wing Chun for a while, but I didn't really like it. It just wasn't me. I'm kinda on hiatus, from MA, but I have had experience in Wing Chun, Kyokushin Karate, Muay Thai and Wrestling. I'm starting up a bit of TKD in a couple of weeks with my friend. Hmmm... What do you guys think about Tommy Carruthers Online Club? I mean obviously its not as good as the real thing, but it really is the closest thing I can find.

I was going to recommend you to visit the Jeet Kune Do - Australian Jeet Kune Do Association website --> www.jkd.com.au/Jeet_Kune_Do.htm, but none are really close to you. I've visited a few places, but the styles incorporated varies from place to place depending on the instructor. It might be a good idea to find the styles that only you want to do, take the best from them and incorporate them into your own style. Look at the founder of the concept of JKD - Bruce Lee. He did about 4 years of Wing Chun, and when he went to the US he learnt a bit of Judo, Wrestling, TKD, Boxing, Fencing etc.. No JKD place in Australia does exactly this.. Bruce did it because he thought it was necessary for himself. Now if you went to Smithfield JKD for example, they mostly do Kickboxing and Silat. Thats why i recommend you to pick and incorporate all the styles 'you' prefer, rather than have someone teach you bits you may not be deeply interested in. Oh BTW nice area you live in!

take wing chun from Jim Fung, then let him tell you about jkd after you've done two years of wing chun

What are some Medicine Schools in Australia

What are some Medicine Schools in Australia?
Im a year 10 Student Currently doing my subject selection forms. I really wish to pursue a career in Pediatric Surgery. As you can tell i'm probably going to take 4 units of science and the standard or requirement of 2 units of english. Math isn't really one of my strong suits however Im willing to work hard. Im not going to take math as a subject for year 11 and 12 but i'm basically wondering What schools offer a Degree in Medicine. I looked at University of Wollongong and their ATAR Cut off would be 83. I want to go to University of Western Sydney however they have an ATAR cut off at 93. If I don't get that ATAR I wont be able to go to that University. Im basically asking if theres any other Medicine Schools who have some lower ATAR Cut offs in Australia. I just want some backup Universities in case I don't meet their ATAR Requirements as Medicine is the thing I want to do with my life. Im not fussy with location and more than willing to move after my HSC Any help you could give Would be greatly Appreciated. E-mail me at Georgtamm@hotmail.com if you need more info thank you :D

Wollongong has the lowest ATAR score for medicine in the country - so if you do not get into that university you will not get into any. If you are not doing maths then you will unlikely pass the interview as this is a pre-req subject for many of the university medicine programs.

Hi, To get an answer to your question, I suggest that you contact TAFE and ask them directly. That way you can rely on the information supplied. You might like to consider another possibility - in Australia there are school-based training programs combined with Trades Training provided by the Australian government for year 11 and 12 students. These colleges offer year 11 and 12 training and also 'hands-on' training in a range of vocational education programs. The phone number to contact is 1300 727 494. Many of the services offered are for young men and women in the Building and Construction Industry, however, depending on where you live, there may be other types of career on-offer. All it takes is a phone call to check it out. If there is a TAFE College near where you live, just call by and talk with one of their people, ask for a Course Information Pack and take pen and paper with you to make notes of phone numbers and any contact names that you may be given. I suggest that you complete Year 10 School Certificate. Very best wishes for your career.

just two prominent appearances of australia on the stage of world history: -the rumors and legends of some yet unknown southern continent 'terra australis' incited some exploration expeditions which finally led to the discovery of that continent and other areas. - in world war one after the battle at gallipoli australian soldiers became more known here in europe.
2 :
By its location Australia is strategically placed to be the "back door" of S E asia.
3 :
If there were no Australia the Southern Hemisphere might be too light, the Earth become unbalanced and tip on its side! Lima, Peru would move from the equator to the north pole! Aside from providing a dumping ground for Britain's 19th century undesirables and some excellent troops in the world wars, Australia's main contribution to the world so far has been Mel Gibson.

Some universities (UniMelbourne) have some subjects offered in Summer (December/February) but these are non-practical subjects (not Physics, Biology, Chemistry) and they are mostly arts, economics, history etc. These cost significantly more than the subjects taken during the normal semester and are only available to students enrolled in a Bachelor degree at that university.

Why does Public schools in Australia have the 2nd lowest standards in the OECD apart from USA being the lowest

Why does Public schools in Australia have the 2nd lowest standards in the OECD apart from USA being the lowest?
for public schools? why are Finland, Canada and Japan doing far better in terms of their public education, the private schools in their countries don't receive any funding and the public system educates 99% of all students in the following three countries and they all have high tech equipment in all schools in the countries and they have a level playing field, whats up with Australia? Can't we aspire to be like them, or isn't it that simple? please comment? fruitsalad and zafir, here is the link for proof: http://www.conferenceboard.ca/hcp/details/education.aspx#weakness Some Quotes: "What is Canada doing right? Canada’s strength is in its public system that provides many Canadians with a good education and the basic skills they need to enter the workforce and achieve substantial success. The system’s primary focus is on delivering education to young people, aged 5 to 25. Over the past 15 years, raising the high-school graduation rate has been a major educational priority—a response to the growing consensus that high-school graduation is the prerequisite stepping stone to post-secondary education, now deemed essential to success in the labour market. Canada has one of the highest rates of high-school and college completion in the world. While Canadians are at school, they become well educated, for the most part, in core subjects like mathematics, reading, and science." Some Quotes cont.: "How would Canada rank if Finland were excluded? Taking Finland out of the reckoning would produce significantly different results. Canada would become the top-performing country. Almost all peer countries would improve their grades. Depending on one’s view of the “Finnish Threat, this may be a more realistic assessment of Canada’s performance in the Education and Skills category. It is one that better reflects Canada’s absolute and relative performance both in the last year and over time."

I find it ironic that you've asked a question about education standards in Australia which is unintelligible, lol.
2 :
Source please? I don't see anything in the article that even mentions public shooling, or that puts it at second lowest in the OECD. It shows better education outcomes in Finland and to some extent Canada, and we are somewhere in the top 5 depending on which statistic you look at. Finland to achieve this spends around 30% more on education as a percentage of GDP, so it comes at a cost. Of course we can aspire to do better. Where we do poorly compared to Canada is the high school and university completion rates, not in the skills achieved.
3 :
As far as educational outcomes are concerned, I was unaware that the OECD differentiated between public and private education. The education statistics I was able to find on the OECD website showed Australia in a positive light. As with all countries there are areas we can improve on, but overall it look OK. Perhaps you could provide a link to your source of information. EDIT: Not sure how you managed to come to the conclusion that Australia is 2nd last out of the OECD countries listed, when the link you posted clearly shows Australia as 6th out of 17 OECD countries, and on a par with Japan, Switzerland and Sweden. How can we possibly be 2nd last? Just in case you don't know which countries are members of the OECD, here's a list: http://www.oecd.org/document/58/0,3343,en_2649_201185_1889402_1_1_1_1,00.html
4 :
You should always treat statistics with suspicion. They are generally produced by people that wish to make a point and that point is seldom the truth.
5 :
Au contrare mon ami! Australia is in the top 4 of educational standards in the world.Wherever you got your statistics they aren't telling the whole story. Why do you think all those foreign students come here for a better education?
6 :
Its probably not because of the schools but because the kids don't really care about grades. Well that's what it's like at my school.

As a parent I am interested in teaching methods regarding primary level math. What are the standards expected for a grade three student. Reading level, handwriting etc are all secondary questions I have. thanks extended: Is there a difference between the methods we studied and the methods that children follow at school. Will it confuse if we teach in traditional methods? What are the homework books I can use for a grade three child ? Where can I buy a handwriting practice book (Vic) for a child who is starting to link ( left hander). Please help.

You would be best to contact the department of education in whichever state you are interested in, as primary education is administered by stat governments. the Victorian education dept has a lot of info on theirs which may prove useful for you. have a look below
2 :
VELS - Victorian Essential Learning Standards - basically describes what a child is expected to achieve at each stage. Stage 3 is for grades 3-4 so a child in Grade 3 should be doing the stage 2 tasks confidently and beginning to learn the stage 3 tasks. In terms of curriculum, the school can cover the stages of VELS in any way they choose. Some schools use traditional methods; others might follow the IB PYP. Handwriting is similar - there is a Victorian script but some schools do not follow it. You could talk to the school you are interested in and ask about this.
3 :
for the victoriam standards you can o to the following websites: http://www.vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au this is the current standards, but you can get a clearer idea from the CSF2 framework fhis gives you progression points also http://www.csf.vcaa.vic.edu.au. I use these two sites a lot as i am currently studying to be a teacher

P.S. we don't call it math in australia - it is maths.

Hi, this is what I found (my translations, sorry if it is unclear): "Every year, 3.500 italians become anorexic, and circa 6.000 become bulimic, according to the latest data reported by the Minister of Health" "the people who get sick* are mostly between the age of 12 and 25. In the latest years, the incidence of anorexia is stable: 4 to 8 new cases every 100.000 inhabitants per year. The incidence of bulimia nervosa is, however, increasing; 9 to 12 out of 100.000 people become bulimic every year." http://noteesalute.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-dati-eurispes-ogni-anno-3500-italiani.html (in Italian) The data was recorded by Eurispes, a private institute of statistics, in 2008. I found some other data (here http://www.bulimianoressia.it/datistatistici.asp , it's a no-profit association that tries to help people who suffer from alimentation disorder), but it's a bit out-dated. If you are interested and need a translation, though, I'd be happy to help.

UC Merced is open for both Freshman and transfers for the Spring 2011 semester. The application period ends on 31 July 2010. The school looking at My personal Stuff

The school looking at My personal Stuff ?
Well the school gave me this laptop (all schools did in NSW , Australia) Its an apple macbook . Im just wondering if the school will know what kind of sites i go to if i use MY OWN internet connection (not the schools) and i clear my browsing history and cookies . Cos if they do , then wouldnt they have access to like all my emails and my myspace ? That would be like invading personal privacy .

Most basic answer according to your question. They can't access your personal files and stuff and they won't find out on your connection.
2 :
It is unlikely that your school is keeping tabs on what kind of sites you go on in your own time. Firstly, they probably wouldn't have the man-power to go through everyone's history (Every student in NSW), especially if you delete yours. Secondly, why would they be bothered with what you do in your spare time? Unless they are using the sites you visit as some sort of secret 'market survey' etc. (bordering on conspiracy theory) there is really not much reason to keep a record of what you do.

you have to take at least 50% parents permission and from your part 100% assurance that you will be not change your school further.

As long as a parent goes with you to the orientation and signing over the forms, there's nothing anyone can do about it and the school doesn't have to know your Dad doesn't want you to. It could cause tension at home and such though, so be careful. Legally, yes. Morally, maybe not. It depends where your priorities are. Good luck xo

I would tell her that you are going to have to quit if she cannot give you just 12 hours. Likely, she will reduce it to twelve hours, but if she doesn't even take that seriously, you can quit and get a job that better fits your hours.

private schools in Australia can cost anything from $3000 dollars a year to $20000 dollars a year for a top boarding school. hope this is of some help , there are lots of free state schools also and they are often very good if not better in some cases.

Whilst Australia is vast, with large differences around the country Education wherever you choose should be OK as all need satisfy Commonwealth and State standards for licence, tax and funding reasons. IF on Exchange read options of Exchange Program given to you. With many exchange programs your school fees remain what you currently pay at home, however you will need spending money ;-) IF looking to arrange your own boarding you need look at each boarding school. Some are very expensive, some not. My children attended St Philips College in Alice Springs : www.stphilips.nt.edu.au Look at their site for fees etc. Located in Alice Springs, capital of Outback Australia, St Philip's is a Uniting Church co-educational Boarding and Day School for students in Years 7 - 12.

um, school costs... i think it's somewhere in the hundreds (in aussie money) but i'm not sure if it's different for exchange students, u should ask your school (or who ever is organising the exchange student program thing) So, canada, that's pretty cool! oh, there's not much else you need to know... i don't think, i remeber we had some exchange students from holland and germany and a couple of other places when i was still at school!

How come it is more socially acceptable for women to have earrings and not men

How come it is more socially acceptable for women to have earrings and not men?
Men who have earrings are considered dirty and cheap (Generally Speaking) in society. And in schools in Australia anyway, males are not allowed to wear earrings, yet it is totally acceptable for females. Why is this? @ Mike Gentiles no it is not as simple as that, if it was I wouldn't bother asking
Gender Studies - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Actually for most society nowadays: Man + Earrings = Gay! I know there are straight guys who wear earrings too but that's the general perception.
2 :
It's because earrings are seen as "feminine". Simple as that.
3 :
I wore diamonds in both ears at school
4 :
IDK it's cultural. Around here, it's okay for sailors to have on in the left ear - they used to have a golden one so if they would get thrown overboard and wash up somewhere, whoever found their body could pay for the funeral with that gold.
5 :
In the 1980s it was fashionable for men to get ear studs and rings. I had a gold and silver one, went in your left ear as the right ear was supposed to be "gay". a lot of my mates got them.
6 :
Because society has lead us to believe women should only wear earrings! If men wear them they're classed as feminine or wrong! Really there's no harm in what men wear really! It's just society tends to dictate what we should and shouldn't wear! If it wasn't for the trend setting brave people who don't care what people think we would never move away from old fashioned thinking and old stigmas about what's ok for women and not for men or vice versa xx I don't wear earrings myself I just don't wanna but there's no real harm done if men did really xx
7 :
why would guys want to wear something so stupid anyways?

Why does the school year in America start mid year

Why does the school year in America start mid year?
As apposed to Australia for example where the school year starts in February and ends in November? Am assuming because summer falls in between?

You are correct! It's so the kids are off for the summer.
2 :
Because the american's are backward. They even drive on the wrong side of the road haha.
3 :
Because of the importance of farming to the early American settlers, schools were closed in the summer so that the children could tend the crops and do other farm chores. That tradition continues today, but very few children still help on the farm.

What is it like living in Australia

What is it like living in Australia?
I am considering moving to Australia when done with school, to work and start a life. However, I've done a lot of research, but haven't found quite the answers I am looking for. What are some real advantages and disadvantages for living in Australia compared to America?
Other - Australia - 9 Answers

There are not mean to black people some are but all of them or not
2 :
compared to america australia is so much more relaxed and much less crime ,they say we have the best and cleanest eaches in the world and the weather is always perfect our winters are not as cold as it gets in america . property prices are very expensive in sydney being compared to manhatten new york ,people say its pretty much impossible to buy a house in sydney ,but hey its the best city in the country ,other ares are quite affordable though. If you did come to live here i doubt you would regret it its a beautiful place
3 :
In Australia there is a lot less extreme poverty and extreme wealth, it's very middle class. Its much safer, there aren't the guns and there is a lot less violent crime. The attitude is very relaxed and casual, but people still work hard. You get 4 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks sick leave in most jobs, and the minimum wage is heaps higher (about $15 per hour for adults). The economy here is booming, unlike the US, and has been for quite some time. There is very little unemployment. Australia is much more multicultural, large numbers of people come to live here from absolutely everywhere. It's not easy to get permanent residency though, you need to have a skill from the list of required skills put out by the immigration department. Australia is much less religious, religion is generally kept out of public life and government. Medical care is free or inexpensive, private health insurance is available but not necessary to receive quality health care. Employers do not usually provide health insurance. We use metric measurements only, don't tip, drive on the left, and generally eat better quality, fresher food than the US. I hope that gives you some help in making your decisions. Good luck.
4 :
from what I have seen the two countries are very similar, however in Australia there seems to be less of a class distinction as anybody who wants to work hard will get somewhere there is also less of a divide between rich and poor ,however having said that nobody ever has to go hungry or without shelter here unlike in what I have seen in America.
5 :
For an American I would say the difference has been suggested, less of a gap between rich and poor, though this is changing. We do not tip as much for eg because everyone is expected to learning a living wage if they work. Some mnay argue this these days. The individual advantage is harder to pin point. Would depend on type of work, where you actually live etc but for many not much difference as very similiar in many ways. I feel the lower paid in the US would gain more from living here, no real poverty as such.
6 :
Excellent, mild climate (generally), beautiful beaches, spectacular scenery, there are lots of open spaces where you can think about where your headed in life and get away from it all, unlike jam-packed america.
7 :
Fantastic! Lots of beautiufull beaches, relaxing, safe, and compared to some countrys a luxery 5 star place! I love it!
8 :
pretty good
9 :
its laid back, they dont care if they dont get all their work done. you see um driving down the road with beer in their hands, lol its hell chill like that. u shud do school or uni here, educations heaaaaps dumbed down

schools in australia

schools in australia?
thinking about going to college in australia. what are some good colleges/universities? what is the average cost?
Higher Education (University +) - 1 Answers

That's not an easy question to answer because you did not say what field you are interested in. You must also remember that unlike colleges in the USA where you will have to complete general education courses in your first two years. in Australia you will have to decide on a major at least by the end of your second year if you are doing a three year undergraduate degree such as BSc or BA. Generally, here are the top ten ranked universities in Australia: ANU1 Uni of Melbourne2 Uni of Sydney3 Uin of Queensland4 Uni of Western Australia5 Uni of New South Wales6 Macquarie U7 MONASH8 Uni of Adelaide9 Flinders Uni10 Fees are dependent on your course of study. Most expensive are medicine, law and engineering. Furthermore, they will be different for undergraduate and graduate courses. Also, there are living costs, which will depend on the city. Some are lower than others. Contact the university of interest to you and they will be able to give you far more details about fees and costs of living in their particular location.

Can a doctor who attended med school in America practice in another country like Canada or Australia

Can a doctor who attended med school in America practice in another country like Canada or Australia?
Btw, I'm not a doctor, I'm just curious..
Medicine - 3 Answers

1 :
Typically an American trained doctor can practice in other countries but there will be some extra things that must be done. Testing, some residency, and any number of other things might be required to be licensed. It is not starting over but an American can not move to Australia and open a clinic immediately. And it would be impossible to say what the specific requirements would be needed or how long it would take. Some countries will not have as many requirements as others. And the medical specialty would also change what would be required and the time. It is certainly going to be easier to practice in another country if you are a general practitioner rather than a neurosurgeon. And with laws being different from country in terms privacy laws, controlled substances, malpractice, and even the difference in drug names (the names 'Tylenol' and 'acetaminophen' only exist in US and Canada). But I can tell you the it is VERY hard for foreign trained doctors to practice in Canada. There are thousands of doctors in Canada who are not allowed to practice because they were not trained in Canada. That is changing and it is getting easier to practice. It is really unfortunate because there is a shortage of doctors (in some fields more than others) and an American psychiatrist or an Italian surgeon might not be able to practice. I do know some doctors who typically went to school in Canada and are licensed in both Canada and The US so that an American can get a Canadian Rx which is cheaper and a Canadian who has the money can get an MRI more quickly in the US. But the US is not very picky about foreign trained doctors.
2 :
Our son, who is currently studying at the Saba University School of Medicine (which is an American school) will be able to practise in Europe, the US or Canada once he is finished.
3 :
Any med student who went to an accredited university and completed a residency can practice anywhere. They do however have to pass exams of the country. The other point is in places like Canada, it is hard for Foreign doctors to land a residency. So the answer to your question is yes. But why would any doctor in their right mind want to go from the US to Canada or Australia where doctors dont get paid half as much...

is australia a country or a continent? what about oceania?
me and my house mates are having a huge discussion on this theme. some websites, including Wikipedia, give different definitions according to the language it was written in. we all come from different countries and were taught different in school. so basically, some know Australia(just the big mass part) is a continent in its own and the only country to occupy one entirely, others say its just a country in the continent of Australia. did anyone out there actually do geographic studies and can sort this whole thing out?

Currently according to the British, French, American and Chinese government, Australia is a country and Oceania is the continent. The Micronesian and the French Polynesian Islands belong to Oceania.
2 :
Its the only country continent. Although, Oceania is not technically a continent, it is an area which include the Australian continent, and some of its neighbors to the north west. Oceania is a region encompassing Austrailia and some of its neighbors. Australia is a continent and a country. New Zealand belongs to Australia the continent, not the country.

Depends on what you want to do. Accounting is accounting, but you have to be familiar with the Australian accounting laws which are different from the ones in the US. If you want to get into taxes, you wouldn't be successful because of your unfamiliarity unless you are really good at showing that you can pick it up easily. If you want a staff accountant's job, then all you ahve to prove is know your debits and credits and such. I suggest learning MYOB for starters - that's the primary accounting software package. If you need sponsorship for work - it will be a lot harder to find a job since Australia has plenty of accountants to work unless you want to go to an area that is away from the major cities. Accountants generally get paid in the 30K area, especially entry-level. You might get lucky and snag a 40K job; you might end up having a 28K job. It's all dependent on where and what kind of work
4 :
hey found one i applied there as receptionist once its a fairly big chain it has offices in newzealand to i gave a link to website see what u find out.
5 :
Fully-qualified accountants are currently in high demand throughout Australia. Book keepers, etc are not in such high demand however if you hold a residence visa you should be able to find a job. Pay will depend on your skills, qualifications and experience and also where you intend on working, a junior book keeper in Adelaide will earn considerably less than a fully qualified accountant in Sydney. If you have any visa related questions you can email me on answers@visalogic.net
6 :
I'm an accountant in Australia, Accounting Professionals are in one of the most demanded categories, in fact it is listed as one of the most wanted occupation to have high points attributed to it in the skill Immigration points system. If you look at the newspapers and websites jobs ads, you can find lots of accounting posotions at entry / intermidiate/ senior / management levels. With that said, a major area of Australian accounting work is in TAX, or tax related business advisoty services. You went to school in the US, you wouldn't be familiar with Australian Tax laws. Employer of Business Advisory services / Taxation type of jobs would prefer Australian bred accountants to you. But if your work in the areas of Auditing, it's different, as Auditing is more internationalised and we have hired people from Africa and Europe to work for us at senior positions. Also with the internationalising of the accounting standard, financial reporting type of work would also fit you if you work for bigger firms who has more financial reporting type of work for reporting entity clients. BUt if you are doing tax related type of work, you probably have to start at a entry level. Which level of Education have you attained? Are you a member of the USA CPA? if you are, you can get your qualifications Recognised by the Australian CAP or ICAA, you can transfer your membership to Australia by attending an AUstralian test, or attend bridging studies. That'll give you lots of plus in looking for a job, and essential if you want to go anywhere higher in that occupation. check CPA site for recognition info http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/SID-3F57FEDF-DA704190/cpa/hs.xsl/803_4374_ENA_HTML.htm International Qualifying Exam -http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/SID-3F57FEDF-DA704190/cpa/hs.xsl/800_8533_ENA_HTML.htm Check the ICAA site for recognition info http://www.icaa.org.au/about/index.cfm?menu=12&id=A105761026 I have no comment on the availability of bookkeeping type of jobs, because Accountants ARE NOT Bookkeeper, WE ARE Different. If you are thinking bookkeeping type of work, you would have to be familiar with softwares like MYOB, attache, quicken...etc, then you'd be pretty much alright. An working exprience and reference is more important than anything when my clients choose a bookkeeper. Accountant with a Bachelor degree can get around AUD$36,000 at entry level. You'd be encouraged to pursue membership with CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered accountants. IF you work reasonably ok, you are looking at a pay rise at around 10% per year, of course if you do better you get more. Many accountants with 3-5 years of expirience are getting around AUD $60k, while higher level accountants like CFO and Partners are getting around AUD$150k

How does the American school work

How does the American school work?
How does the American school system work? Like in Australia, K~2 are called infants. 3~5 { or 5 } are called primarys. { 5 } Year 6 are called senior primarys. 7~12 are called High Schoolers. So how does the smae thing work, but in America? I'm sure it's different, because for their High School, they have labels like, Sophomores etc . I'm really confused. Please someone answer me.

Well i live in America and am from Australia...but the truth is i don't know. All i know is American education is pretty shocking.
2 :
it works like this. a child goes into school with high hopes of interacting with other kids and learning what their potential in life is! then other kids start to bully them because those kids didnt get enough love at home. children are then forced to concentrate into "clicks" in order to find some identity in a group. it gets worse from there. in the end, most kids dont make it out unscathed. its a greek damned tradgedy.
3 :
kindergarten is actually the first year for most but not madatory. Then we have grade school, 1st grade through 5th, middle school, 6th through eighth, and 9 through 12th is High School. In High School, the first year you are a freshman, the second year a sophmore, the third a junior and the last a senior.
4 :
K-5 = Elementary 6-8 = Intermediate (or Junior High) 9-12 = High School In High School: 9 = Freshman 10= Sophomore 11= Junior 12 = Senior
5 :
K-5 elementary 6-8 is junior high school 9-12 is high school 9Th graders are called Freshmen( 1st year of high school) 10Th graders are called Sophomores ( 2ND year) 11Th graders are called Juniors ( 3rd year) and 12Th graders are called Seniors ( last year of high school) Sames as college terms But every school district is different because some schools don't include the 9th grade with high school.
6 :
We ave elementary, middle, and high school. Normally, here school starts in kindergarden, with typically 6-year olds. Some kids would have been in private day care first, then a private pre-school. But the public school system starts in K. Although occasionally in some states pre-K for 5 or 6 year olds is offered. Kids continue in the same school until either 5th or 6th grade. Education and how the grades are broken down between elementary, middle, and high varies somewhat between the states in the US. The Federal Government leaves some freedom to the States in deciding. Anyway, whether it ends in 5th grade or 6th grade, that's called elementary or grade school. After that, kids change schools to go to middle school. If it starts in 6th grade (most common), then you have three years to spend there, 6th 7th and 8th grade. It can also be called Junior High instead of Middle School. High School starts in 9th grade in most state school systems. The grades are still called 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th, but they are also referred to by the "labels" you mentioned. A 9th grader is a freshman, a 10th grader is a sophomore, an 11th grader is a junior, and a 12th grader is a senior.
7 :
It depends on the state, county,or school district, and even then, it varies... One option that hasn't been discussed K-6: Elementary School or Primary School 7-8: Middle School or 7-9: Junior High School 9-12 High School or 10-12: Senior High School I can understand why you are confused.
8 :
Its dirt simple dear. "K" is Kindergarten, like Preschool; Grades 1-6 are called "Elementary School"; Grades 7 and 8, when I was a kid, were called, "Junior High", but is now more often referred to as "Middle School"; Grades 9, 10. 11 and 12 is referred to as "High School", although everytime I got high there they made me leave. Grade 9 students are "Freshmen" Grade 10 are "Sophmores" Grade 11 are "Juniors" Grade 12 are "Seniors"

Unless your sister is an independent student (ie not being supported by her parents), then she is not eligible. Your parents, however, should be able to make a claim in their 2009 tax returns, provided they are in receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A and have kept the receipts for any eligible expenses (such as laptop, textbooks)

She should approach centrelink. However if she was eligible (in receipt of youth allowance) she would have received. It is unlikley her parents could or would be eligible. No claim can be made in the 2009 tax return for this as this is totally different to the education tax offset. They are two totally different things.

you maybe should have applied for a student visa instead of a spousal visa.....you could still try but it may confuse the issues...if they are processing your papers already. Your eligibility may depend on your spouse..... Is he / she a citizen? or a resident ? if not, you will find it difficult to come here at your age. You will have to pay for your education, which is not cheap, and have means of support for the whole time here. I don't think you will be able to speed things up much because of these factors.
