Well the school gave me this laptop (all schools did in NSW , Australia) Its an apple macbook . Im just wondering if the school will know what kind of sites i go to if i use MY OWN internet connection (not the schools) and i clear my browsing history and cookies . Cos if they do , then wouldnt they have access to like all my emails and my myspace ? That would be like invading personal privacy .

Most basic answer according to your question. They can't access your personal files and stuff and they won't find out on your connection.

It is unlikely that your school is keeping tabs on what kind of sites you go on in your own time. Firstly, they probably wouldn't have the man-power to go through everyone's history (Every student in NSW), especially if you delete yours. Secondly, why would they be bothered with what you do in your spare time? Unless they are using the sites you visit as some sort of secret 'market survey' etc. (bordering on conspiracy theory) there is really not much reason to keep a record of what you do.
