School Transfer NSW - QLD (Australia) HELP PLEASE!
School Transfer NSW - QLD (Australia) HELP PLEASE!?
Sorry for any confusion but this is my first question. Anyway. A good friend of mine who currently is in year 11 in NSW, but by June - July she will be moving to QLD. I checked up and i noticed QLD has a different Syllabus from year 7 - 12 compared to NSW's Syllabus. So my question is if you move from Year 11 in NSW to year 11 in QLD will they make you repeat a year or such? or will you just go ahead right away into the new Syllabus half way through? Thank You

No you wont repeat - you are in year 11 and 11 you shall stay

How can a 16 yo US citizen live in Australia??? or go to school there or stay for along time
How can a 16 yo US citizen live in Australia??? or go to school there or stay for along time?
So im fed up with the US and i havent had a good life here at all and my girlfriend lives in Australia and i already love that place. And I wanna live there or go to school there anything that could get me there for along time. So any details or information or ideas you give would be nice. thank you so much Where would I learn how to be an exchange student??? also the way thongs are going for me and my family i might get emancipated ***things. NoNo24: I have money and more stuff goes on at my house then just not getting along. wanna come over and see???

If you've been emancipated from your parents, and someone,who is from Australia, will legally take you in, then I'm pretty sure you can live there. If you don't want it to be a permanent thing, you can look into being an exchange student for a year, or look into the People to People program. People to People is where you go to a certain area for about a month, outside or inside the country, to learn more about the area. They'll both cost some money, but it'll be worth it. At the moment, I'm trying to get some information on being an exchange student to France. Hope this helps;)

dont do people to people. you are there for 14-23 days, depending on your trip, you have a host family for like 3 days, you travel, go to cool places, and yo are with like 40 other kids from were you come from, and 5 adults. people to people is great, but it is not what you are looking for. do an exchange program.

If you were able to become emancipated (you must have a strong reason such as being sexually abused or both parents are dead; simply not getting along isn't' reason enough to be emancipated) and you were able to get a visa (which is again unlikely as even though you are emancipated you are still only sixteen) you would have to prove that you could support yourself in Australia, which means getting a job. You can't come to Australia and expect someone else or the govt to support you just because you're not happy living at home. It doesn't matter if you 'have money' you need a constant income, not just one big bulk that runs out. You can't expect the Australian taxpayers to support you. And so what if more goes on? Huh? Unless you are in danger of being murdered at any second it's not grounds for emancipation. People think it's so easy to become an emancipated minor and it's not. And so what if you DO become an emancipated minor? You still can't come to Australia, you're only 16.

Because you're a minor, you won't be able to come to Australia without firm arrangements for your care and protection that are acceptable to our government. I don't know how emancipation works in the US, but if you're under 18, you would presumably have some type of appointed guardian - there's no way you would get any type of Australian visa without your parent's or guardian's permission. Exchange student arrangements are usually relatively short term and don't sound as if they would suit your circumstances so you would probably need to come as a full time student at a boarding school.
