Help me convert my high school results to an SAT score

Help me convert my high school results to an SAT score?
I finished high school in Australia, I took the TEE, not the SAT, which resulted in a grade known as the TER, which is the percentage of other students that I scored higher than. my TER is 96.05, (so I was in the top 3.95% of my year) as a guide, a TER of 80 will get you into a commerce degree in the countries most selective business school, engineering ranges from 85-95 law is from 96 and above medicine is 98-99 I am preparing a resume to apply for jobs in America and would like to supply them an estimate of my SAT score by comparison, so what is it? just to clarify, what SAT would get you into law at a good school, but not medicine? why would I be on 1400? this page says 1500 is the average, so wouldn't 1400 be pretty bad? http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_1400_a_good_SAT_score

The SAT gets you into University for an undergraduate (bachelors) degree. The SAT is a general test for everyone and while there are subject tests, they don't really have an bearings on what you study at University. If you're in the top 4%, you would have scored a 1400 or so on the SAT although you shouldn't write that on a job application. The tests are different and you may come across as dishonest. Just write that you fell in the top 3.95 percentile for your standardized test. EDIT: I meant 1400 out of 1600 which was the way it used to be scored. Find a conversion table from old to new to figure it out.

I suggest that you do not try to make an estimation. For one thing, you do not have an accurate source to make a conversation. Write down what you have on your employment application and add that there is no SAT in Australia. Explain TEE to them. Secondly, you cannot simply get into law school or medical school in United States. You have to do really well in undergraduate, perform stellar in standardized tests, and do well in interviews. You have to be U.S. citizen or permanent resident as well. There are exceptions, but very rare.

They are completely different - you sit a specific test for SAT AS WELL AS the tests for your subjects to finish your final year at school. The scores are not comparable. Australian students don't sit a separate uni entrance exam - its like saying I got 90% in year 12 music - what AMEB exam score is that? It doesn't make sense.

The SAT is for the undergraduate degree. US colleges do not teach medicine or law at the undergrad level. Even if you have taken the TEE, you must take the SAT.

the SAT doesnt work that way at all there is no set score for suggesting what career you would be successful in it is a general test to assess how well your reasoning is the score is used to see how successful you will be in a college enviroment it has no effect on your proffesional choice... granted people with higher scores tend to go into proffesions such as law, medicine, and enginerring... and what job are you looking for b.c the SAT is taken after high school and companies could careless what you scored just colleges... idk if your test is after hs or after uni but if its after hs you still need to go get a college degree and yea 1400 is terrible
