I'm looking for a good pre-school in the Coogee/Randwick area of Sydney, Australia.

I'm looking for a good pre-school in the Coogee/Randwick area of Sydney, Australia.?
My daughter is only 10 months but I know the good pre-schools have long waiting lists. Could anybody suggest places I should contact or websites that would give some info? So far I've found good websites for Montessori and have visited a local Steiner pre-school. I've got no preference about religious affiliation or private vs public, just looking for somewhere caring and inspiring with well qualified and experienced staff.

Is there a community center in your area...or even a library? A lot od time the people who are employed there, or even the patrons there have knowledge of good places in the area. Good luck, I know how importnant this is from personal experience.

There are a lot of potential problems for youngsters in work, many of them legal, parents and guardians want to be careful about that. There is a lot of guidance from the site in the box below on this issue, they also have guidance for all peeps who are searching for work, or who want to change careers.

While its not really important what subjects you take to get into medical school - if you are aiming to get into undergraduate medicine you need to be #1 or #2 in your year (assuming there are 100 students in your year) in order to get a chance of getting in.

Your marks should be around B+ to A+ if you want to to Biomedical science in uni In a way yes you have to be smart to become a doctor, but you're still in year 10 so relax a little. Also if you are focused and determined to become one, then you will. Do Biology, chemistry and Physics. They are the main subjects if you want to be a doctor. And Maths methods, or Specialist. That's when your year 11 btw. Your still in yr 10 so just get through this year first Process to become a doctor? not too sure, im guessing you need a degree then you can specialize in certain areas?? not sure though A doctor is a doctor, regardless of where you live in the world your saving peoples lives. However i think our health care system is better, so just stay in Australia. Also if you need help with what you want to do after yr 12 and VCE, go to your Career's teacher, and they'll help you

Hi there, If you are coming to NSW you will need to register on the NSW Department of Education teachers site - there's an online application form - you can start the process for over in the UK. (If you can't find the site - let me know - i'll send it on). They'll want evidence of quals and a statement of service etc. They've passed a new teachers' act of 2004 - basically means that any teacher who has not been in the system in NSW for the past 5 years, needs to undergo an accreditation process (yep - more shifting of paperwork and an interview). I'm a Queensland teacher and undergoing that process at the moment - more a nuisance than difficult. May be worthwhile becoming familiar with the syllabuses - google the 'board of studies' for the relevant states. Good luck with it all

I would like to move to australia

I would like to move to australia?
I will be graduating next year with a degree in Health promotion and probably a 4.0 gpa. Although I have never visited Australia, I have been doing some research and would like to try to move there. I am very adventurous and would literally move anywhere. What I need to know is, as a new graduate, how to go about finding a job, how much money I need to save up, cost of living, which cities are the best to move to, would I be able to attend graduate school in Australia or anything else that would be of help. Thank you! I live in arizona and attend arizona state university. Health promotion is a fairly new program. Its based on preventative health. It involves nutrition, exercise, and pyschology as well as all of the science classes. With my degree I could attend a pharmacy, physical therapy school or go into public health. What if i came and worked in the hospitality industry for a couple years first? I have been doing this for years already. But i guess pretty much what you're saying is i'm not good enough for australia to let me come there? I have to be a doctor or I wont be accepted? pretty much?

As a new graduate you are not eligible to migrate to Australia regardless of your profession. You need to have a number of years experience working in your own country first before you can apply and then only if you have qualifications and experience in one of the professions in need. Unless this "Health promotion" course is a nursing, dental, radiography or doctor profession its unlikely that even with experience you will be eligible to migrate. Attending graduate school in Australia will only help if that course leads to one of the above health professions.

you are one of ,millions who would wish to live in australia, and understandably so, it is a clean, modern progressive country, - very stable and arguably the best place in the world to live. we accept around 200,000 immigrants every year, mostly professional people , but not always so. any city in australia is highly rated internationally, but melbourne victoria is the most popular and a very fine city. number one in the world recently rated. i dont understand your position as health promotion, and its a pity you omitted to advise where you now live,- it can make a difference. you can attend graduate school in australia, but until you are a permanent resident you would need to work and pay for your studies. advise your country of origin, and describe your occupation to be, better, for further advice . rex boorooban@hotmail.com

Before you make such a huge decision such as emigrating why not come for a visit. We have student working visas so you could work your way around the country and then decide. Be aware that we also have the deadliest spiders and snakes not to mention drop bears, so there is a lot to take into account. You would also have to learn the language and have travel insurance. Cheers Cobber
