What do you know about the law in Australia

What do you know about the law in Australia?
I have to do an assignment at school regarding the law in Australia with a particular focus on Sentencing! My business teacher wants lots of research, but I can't find a thing! Imprisonment? Community Service? Suspended Sentence? Probation? What can you be jailed for doing? What are the courts in Australia? Any useful websites that I can use? Please help! Any information would be great! Thanks! =D

How come when I go to google it says 'pages from UK' instead of where i live, australia

How come when I go to google it says 'pages from UK' instead of where i live, australia?
I live in australia, and in google, it has 'pages from the UK' and when i search things it comes up with (sitname).CO.UK??? All websites at school have 'pages from australia'? and come up .com.au?

Google tries to determine your location based on your IP address. You may be using an IP address of a company based in the UK. Look up your IP address http://www.myipaddress.com/show-my-ip-address/ Then put that IP address in a service that will tell you the owner and maybe even the location of that IP address. Not sure where UK or Australia would be looked up from but you can start by trying arin. http://www.arin.net/index.shtml Another reason is you could be using a UK proxy.

In the show skins what is College? Is that like high school? (I'm from Australia!)?
I thought it was weird because it's called college and they seem to be able to select a major?

College is where you can go after graduating from high school. You can go to college or university to continue your education.

In the UK college is where you go when you are aged 16-18 to study A-Levels, of which you usually pick 3 or 4. You study these for 2 years and then you can go onto university, although the school leaving age is 16.

College (university) in the US you must declare a major at a certain point or before you begin your coursework, but you can major in more than one field at a time. College is after High school.( Secondary School) Wikipedia calls it a degree awarding institution of higher learning.
