In Australia there is 2 different degree, one diploma (post grad) and bachelor (under grad), what's difference?
Question in Y!A say a diploma is a high school certificate. in Australia I think it is different there is a diploma (Post grad) and bachelor (under grad). So is the difference between the 2 degree's just different entry into the course? or age? is one worth less than the other? is one less work than the other?

Diploma and Associate Diploma are TAFE qualifications. Bachelors are given out at universities and are undergraduate degrees GRADUATE Certificates and Diplomas are an extra semester/2 semesters after the Bachelor degree with generally (although not always) some time working between getting the Bachelor and enrolling in the Grad Dip. Universities have acknowledged that a Bachelor does not always prepare you for a specific job in the workforce - the Grad Cert/Dips are that little extra training to give you an added edge in the job market

High School = Certificate - equivalent to U.S high school Diploma. There are two levels of Diplomas in Australia one that you do through a technical/private college which takes 1.5 - 2 years to complete, this Diploma is below a Bachelor Degree which takes a minimum of 3 years to complete. Post Graduate Diplomas generally require the completion of a Bachelor Degree and are generally harder academically as it is at university level; They can be completed in 1 - 2 years Generally young people straight from high school who do not have the marks to get into university go to a Technical college for a few years to gain a Diploma and practical work skills. However you do get some people who are much older in the course often refereed to as mature age students. At the end of the day when you are in the workplace it does not really matter however if you are set on building an academic career then it is very important to choose a a course at one of the best colleges.
