Why do they Stereotype Private Schoolers Our family are very fortunate, and happen to be very wealthy multi millionaires. And we all go to the best private schools in Australia and such things like this, But thats not our fault is it. We are simply living the life we were given, and are gratfull. The state school kids come and steal our ipods and said ''Shut the fuck up you preppy suns of bitches just ask mummy and daddy for a new one, go back to your mantions and cry''...this has been stuck in my head they all think we have these perfect lives. We arent Barbie dolls. And if you look nice you get Hit! like the other day on the train, these girls walked up to my best friend courtenay and i and slapped us we asked why, we didnt do anything to you?....Because we have Blonde hair and Blue eyes?? has that ever happened. I found this so Bizzare!. I mean .....i am lost for words with this subgect. What is your Oppinion? We have been taught better than to be snobby about it! Well if you are so rich you should share your wealth and then the state school kids would have a better education. PAY MORE TAX and GIVE more TO SOCIETY ! Pay for the state school kids to have MORE privileges, like pay for some more teachers, CLOSE your private school and reopen it as a STATE school for everyone ! Or move to Denmark, only state schools and DECENT people !

I went to a private high school (grades 7-12), but my family is far from being rich! I got there through a full scholarship that I competed for while I applied to the school. Even when I went to college...I was on a scholarship....and med school.....I am on a scholarship....So just because you go to a great school, It does not make you this rich and spoiled stereotype.

often they're jealous and judgemental because look how much more private schools generally offer, its something to be jealous of they just havent seen both sides of the story.

it may not have been given to your parents but it was given to you. so you didn't earn anything. and you don't necessarily look good just because you have blonde hair and blue eyes. i know some blonde blue eyed people that are ugly as sh!t so thats probably not why they slapped you.

It all comes down to jealousy, just become yourself and excel in everything u do. is it possible to transfer into an ivy league school for your last year of studies?
Hi, I'm currently finishing my first semester in university, I've gone from barely scraping through high school to being a straight A university student. I'm confident I can keep a gpa of 4.0, and extremely confident about the interviews concerning ivy league schools. But next year I was planning to do an exchange with a school in Australia rather than transfer into an ivy league school. I was wondering if it's possible for me to transfer into say Harvard, or any other ivy league school for that part for the last year of my bachelor's program? or do they require you to complete all four years at that ivy league school?

most top tier schools require at least 2 years there. They will also give preference to freshman. If this is what you want to do, apply to transfer as early as possible. There is no reason why you can't do a study abroad program in australia at an ivy league school as well.

No. Most universities require you to earn at least 1/2 of your credits with them in order to grant you a degree. Though you could make it any two of the 4 years.

Hairstyles for school.

Hairstyles for school..?
...well I am Australian/Irish. So I go to school in Australia, and I have brown dark hair, blue eyes. I need a good hairstyle besides my same old, left side fringe to side and hair tied up straight. I dont like wavy hair styles as i feel like it looks like you havent brushed your hair lol, so I straighten mine and I dont like curls either. I have to have a side fringe... to the left... i think I dont know, like I feel weird if I dont wear a fringe to school lol. umm besides that yeah, any suggestions? pictures or sources, you can try and talk me into something out of my comfort zone lol. xx

is your hair naturally straight? if your in aussie go to the beach or let your hair dry natural then do two fishtail plaits or leave it natural or french plaits or plaited fringe and messy bun

messy bun :D just use ur fingers and grab ur hair into a pony tail then twist it up and then wrap it around itself and use a elastic and tie it around the bun u made. leave ur fringe out u can do a half up one sided loose plait with ur fringe out. looks great. its all over runways.

I live in Australia and in my school we just have a canteen in which people who want to buy lunch or snacks queue up for.

Oh we have a proper cafeteria. We have lunch numbers, we have to pay like 50 cents for chips and waters and cookies, we have milk and the meal of the day then regular food but we have the workers give it to us, we have a fruit and salad bar, then we have the sauces (ketchup, mustard, etc..), and that's it.

we have a cafeteria but it aint free $7.25 for the buffet (we stuff our bpacks with cookies, muffins, brownies etc lol) screw that even tho the foods good i'd rather walk down the busy 6 lane road to get to Dairy Queen mmm + every thursdays the church across the street as well gives free food and if they dont make the food they buy it and have it catered *droolz* enjoy the rest of ur day :)

well in america we have a cafeteria wuth the luch numbers and the $3.25 for the sh!tty food with the 4 lines [2 "homecooked meals, hamburger/hotdog line with fries, and the pizza/salad bar] crappy milk/water and then people pay extra for an extra slice of pizza or a normal size water and not a 4ounce but at my school, me and my friends, we never eat in it when its warm we eat outside in the patio area and drink cokes and in the winter we sit in at the tables and drink cokes lol

Boarding school grief?
I'm gay. I've known for quite a few years, but I haven't told anyone and I'm not sure when I'm going to. I don't act in a way that would make people think I'm gay; only really close people might begin to suspect. Or thats what I think, anyway lol. This year I moved into boarding school at an all boys school in Australia and made a load of great new friends, namely my first roommate, who is now my best friend. We hang out together all the time, constantly in each other's rooms and watching movies together all day. He doesn't know that I'm gay (nobody does), and my problem is that I think I'm in love with him. Or just a realy strong crush sorta thing. No idea. I really think that I should come out to him, but I'm not sure if I should or how he'll take it. I trust him, but I'm not sure if, after only a year of knowing each other, I should tell him. I'm 15, he's 16, and he's definately straight. I hate having to dodge questions and subjects to cover up what I can't change. What do I do?

If you feel that he will be accepting of you then you should tell him, but don't if you think he may turn on you or out you to the whole school or something equally as ghastly. However if you simply can't live without telling him then you should try.

Although I'm straight, and wouldn't really know how to come out, you should tell your friend you are gay, but don't tell him that you love him. A best friend is never worth losing.

awwww <33333 oh, and all boys school eh? ;) aha! well I don't know, he seems like a nice guy, but bring it up like just beat around the bush (..well, not *literally* ^_^) but say something like "my friend just came out to me over the phone" or something, and maybe pretend that it bothers you or something, idk. but see how he reacts. say, "i don't know what to say to him...what would you say?" and if he's all cool with it then he's all cool with you. ^-^ now you also have a crush on him, that's a bit different, get drunk with him sometime (it's easier to say things when drunk and he might take it easier, i'm talking about if you decide to tell him how you feel about him..) good luck!

Good for them. As the article says, they also have people of different religions come in as well, and any parent can take their children out if they are offended. It's really not that difficult, if the knee-jerk religious types in America would calm down for a minute we could have a decent dialogue, kids included.

I personally don't feel religion should be any part of school, just like it shouldn't be in with the politics. They aren't forcing the children to attend the classes, so I don't see any real harm in it, but I don't see the need to waste another hour of schooling to teach religion when they get that teaching in church each week, and education could be put to better use in that extra hour.

Its optional, from what i understand, so i really don't care. But how can you teach that God doesn't exist because there is no proof? That would not be a very large curriculum.

The headline says that children are taught there is no God. In the article it says children are taught "...there is no evidence God exists." These are two different claims in fact. By the way, the second claim is certainly true. I don't know how the school system in Australia works, if religious instruction is mandatory etc. I live in America and I do not advocate instructing children in public schools as to what their religious beliefs should or should not be. There should be a religious studies class which simply conveys what the core beliefs of the world's religions are. That is simply part of being an educated person.
